Established in 1968, we are the oldest, continuously run swap meet in Texas dedicated to the old car hobby. We started in Irving and moved to the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington in 1977 and now to Decatur. Our sincere thanks the Wise County Sheriff's Posse for allowing us the use of their Rodeo Grounds. Our past association with the Texas Rangers was always cordial and it is with regret we have had to leave Arlington.
Many of you are familiar with our new swap meet location in Decatur, Texas, at the Wise County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Grounds on FM 51, approximately 1.5 miles south of its junction with US Hwy 287. For directions click here. There are several hotels and motels within a short distance. For motels offering swap meet discounted rates click here.
VENDOR SPACES & REGISTRATION
We have 3,000+ spaces available, a few inside (those outside are none too shady) and we expect to have a Car Corral. The pre-registration price per space is $35 thru July 31st and $40 thereafter and at the gate. Outside spaces are generally 10' x 20'. Inside spaces are smaller. For a pre-registration form click here. For large tractor-trailer rigs, please call first. There are several food vendors on site (see "Food" below). For a complete listing of our guidelines click here.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Publicadmission to the swap meet itself is free. For vendors we provide a venue for the sale or trade of old cars, old car parts and automobile related items, including antique and classic cars, special interest cars, street rods etc. We advertise heavily in hobby journals and magazines and also in local and surrounding area newspapers. Security guards are on duty 24 hours a day from Thursday through Sunday afternoon.
NOTE: Everyone must be clear of the swap meet grounds by 5:00 PM Sunday.
The Sheriff's Posse and other local groups provide the parking for the public, vendor trailers etc., immediately adjacent to the swap meet grounds. Parking is not allowed along FM 51 near the swap meet.
There are a variety of food concessions, most of which are run by local community and non-profit groups. Because of this, sale of food and drink items by other than our official concessionaires is strictly prohibited. Please patronize these folks as this directly helps the local community.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Dallas/Fort Worth area antique car enthusiasts, motivated to keep our old cars running (and to further the hobby in general) by creating a forum where old cars and parts are made available for sale or trade. This is the only swap meet held at this location that is sponsored by the Southwest Swap Meet LLC which is a partnership of 3 antique car hobby clubs: Antique Automobile Club of America (Texas Region), Dallas Model A Ford Club of America, and the Horseless Carriage Club of America (North Texas Regional Group). For more information on these clubs click here. Please note that the Southwest Swap Meet LLC is not associated with the club that organizes the swap meet held in February at this same location, but we hope they attend our meet as we attend theirs.
