Southwest Swap Meet Information
NOTE: NOT YET UPDATED FOR 2010
Please take the
time to read this information and help make this another successful swap meet by
adhering to the following rules. Your cooperation with the meet officials is
sincerely appreciated:
Gates open for general admission at
6:30 a.m. Friday. Pre-registered vendors are invited to enter at 3:00 p.m. until
dark on Thursday.
NO SALES ALLOWED ON THURSDAY PLEASE.
Absolutely no entry before this time. If you arrive
early do not park on Ballpark property.
Gates are open 6:30 AM
both days and until 9:00 PM Friday.
Vendors requiring access to the swap meet grounds after
9:00 PM will be re-admitted with a valid windshield sticker. The gates are
manned by security guards at night to
prevent unauthorized traffic. Please do not drive around or run RV generators
after 10:30 PM until the gates open at 6:30 AM.
If
you are towing a vehicle or trailer and intend for these to stay within the
swap meet grounds, then you should purchase space for them. No parking is
permitted on streets within the swap meet, except briefly for
loading/unloading. Vehicles parked in front of the trash dumpsters may
themselves be dumped on. Otherwise, vehicles must be parked in spaces assigned
to you and display a windshield sticker. Unattended vehicles not displaying a
sticker or vehicles incorrectly parked in a street, or on a grassy area, or in
someone else's space will be towed at the owners' expense and risk. There is a parking area for trailers
in the far northwest corner of the swap meet. Please do not park
tow vehicles in the trailer parking areas. Either park these in the free
public parking area or buy a swap meet space for them. No camping is allowed
in the public parking area, only within the swap meet grounds
IMPORTANT: Please do not drive
or park vehicles or trailers or place parts for sale on grassy areas. The costs to repair tire ruts,
broken sprinkler heads, clean up spilled oil etc, will of necessity be passed through to you,
resulting in increased space rental fees. You are welcome to set up an
umbrella, table, deck chairs on any grass adjacent to your space.
A windshield sticker is mailed to you for each space reserved. Every
vehicle entering the swap meet grounds must display a sticker placed on the
upper left, inside the windshield, in order to be admitted. Don't misplace or
forget to bring your stickers, as duplicate stickers will not be issued.
Damaged stickers can be replaced if sufficiently legible to determine the
original space number.
Each space is identified by a numbered plaque placed on the ground in the
space. Please do not mutilate or remove these re-usable plaques. Please keep
your displays within your 9' x 18' (approx.) striped boundary. No stakes,
nails or poles may be driven into the pavement.
For safety reasons, please observe a 5-MPH speed limit when driving to or from
your space.
PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IS OF UTMOST
CONCERN. For liability reasons, vehicular traffic must be minimized.
Cruising around inside the swap meet grounds by ABLE-BODIED people, in or on
any kind of vehicle, IS NOT PERMITTED.
Disabled persons are, of course, welcome to use an appropriate conveyance but if they plan to use a vehicle that is not obviously designed for use by the disabled (such as golf carts, 3 or 4 wheelers, motorcycles, bicycles or scooters), then they are requested to report to the registration desk for a Southwest Swap Meet Authorized Sticker. STICKERS WILL ONLY BE ISSUED IF YOU SHOW A COPY OF YOUR STATE APPROVED “APPLICATION FOR DISABLED PERSON IDENTIFICATION PLACARD AND/OR DISABLED LICENSE PLATE” (OR THE PLACARD ITSELF) PLUS A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE. Use of such a vehicle must be limited to the authorized person. (No riders please.)
Firearms are not permitted on the swap meet grounds nor may they be offered for sale.
If you wish to remove heavy items from the swap meet ground during meet
hours, please report to the main gate for a method of removal.
The vending area must be vacated by
5:00 PM Saturday. The cleanup crew may
remove any parts left unattended after 5:00 PM Saturday.
Swap meet spaces may not be resold at a profit.Pets must be on a leash at all times. Leashes should be 6' maximum. We
have a contracted food concessionaire and there are food and beverage booths
throughout the grounds for your convenience. Only authorized concessionaires may sell food, ice or beverages on the
swap meet grounds. Consumption of alcohol is not encouraged and it should be
noted that consumption of personal beverages might be subject to Texas
Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) regulations.
The Southwest Swap Meet, Sponsoring Clubs, affiliates of the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington,
Six Flags over Texas and the
City of Arlington will not be responsible for damages, injuries, theft, loss
or accidents during the swap meet. Please read the indemnification
statement on the back of your windshield sticker.
